Catonsville resident Justin Crosby has been identified by police as the rider was killed after crashing early on Sunday morning in Upper Marlboro.

Police say that at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Oct. 27, officers were called to the 3400 block of Ritchie Marlboro Road, where there was a reported crash involving two motorcyclists and a cow.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, upon arrival, they found Crosby on the side of the road with critical injuries, with another man in the roadway with less severe injuries.

Crosby was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say that Crosby and the second rider were heading north on Ritchie Marlboro Road when the second man struck the cow after it wandered into the roadway.

Crosby was able to avoid striking the cow, but detectives believe he lost control of his motorcycle and struck a guardrail.

The cow was killed in the crash, which remains under investigation.
